How are RECs verified?

The Clean Energy Choice program is a low-cost way to support renewable energy and the environment.

A new program is available where residential customers can elect to have 50%, 75%, or 100% of their electricity from environmentally friendly, renewable sources.

An independent third party selected by the State of Minnesota tracks the creation and retirement of REC’s. Generation is metered to ensure the correct number of REC’s are allocated to each renewable generation facility.
